The Eisbach is an artificial river not far from the heart of the city, and from a bridge overhead you can watch locals and visitors alike try their hand at riding its waves. Just before this shot, this surfer stood tall; just after it, the endless rush of the water had already tossed him aside. A nearby sign warns that “Due to the forceful current, the wave is suitable for skilled and experienced surfers only.”
